I went to the opera yesterday night. Salome by Strauss. While waiting in the lobby the newly elected German president and his wife walked by. Yesterday night I went to watch the Passion of the Christ. It touched me. It is really incredible how much torture a human being can endure. Especially if (according to the bible) he did it freely. I understand the danger of shooting at looters with relatively few troops present. Urban warfare might have erupted with lots of casualties.
